Maureen Denise McCormick born 5th August 1956 in Woodland Hills California, youngest daughter, and the sole son daughter of Richard McCormick. She was raised by a mother who was a housewife and a father who was a teacher. Michael Dennis, Kevin and Dennis are her three elder brothers. Beginning at a very early age, McCormick enjoyed singing and dance and would often present puppet shows to the neighborhood children. Her fairytale rise to fame began when she was crowned the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest at the age of 6. This led to a call from the talent agent Pat Domigan of the Jack Wormser Agency who asked whether she wanted to be in show business. McCormick was commissioned to perform in her first big role in 1964 in an tv commercial featuring Mattels most recent doll, Baby Pattaburp. The following year she appeared in another commercial for Mattels Chatty Cathy doll and was soon cast in the play The Wind It up until It Breaks at the La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick, which was chosen out of 1200 auditioning children to play the oldest of three double-headed daughters, in The Brady Bunch (1969) which starred Florence Henderson and Robert Reed. The show lasted for five years. McCormick's memoir Heres the Story, Surviving Marcia Brady: Finding My True Voice was released in the year 2008. In it she revealed the fact that McCormick was close to losing her virginity on stage of the show during its fifth season to Barry Williams. The actress was sixteen years older and the actor aged 19 at that moment. This would have occurred as she describes. But, the time for our marriage was not right.
